Explore the Northern Beaches

Discover nice beaches in Sydney and other outdoor fun

Nice beaches in Sydney: Fairy Bower Pool, another day in paradise
Fairy Bower ocean pool at Manly.

Northern Beaches Discovery provides information about fun outdoor activities and attractions on Sydney’s Northern Beaches that are free.

The purpose of this blog is to highlight locations in this beautiful part of the world that provide fun things to do and explore – and hopefully get kids off screens and out in the fresh air for a few hours!

I provide details on well-trodden tourist paths as well as lesser known locations. I include a map and ‘getting here’ information to make your time in the north fabulous, fun and hassle free.

Getting the most from this blog

Blogs follow date order under DESTINATION. However the blogs are also grouped into geographical categories. Click the arrow on the DISCOVER dropdown menu on the sidebar (or scroll to the bottom if using a mobile device) for places to explore in and around locations such as Manly, Dee Why, Narrabeen, Pittwater.

Blogs that don’t lend themselves to be categorised geographically have been grouped under other headings, such as Wildlife.

Use the PLAY dropdown menu to find posts that mention great swimming spots, bushwalking tracks, places to cycle, open water for paddling, or simply a picturesque place for a picnic.

This blog is an ongoing project so if there is nothing as yet on a place you want to visit, contact me and I’ll try and fast track a post for you.

About me

Hello, I’m Diane Godley, mother of two and professional SEO content writer.

I’ve lived on Sydney’s Northern Beaches for nearly 20 years and I wake up every morning thinking how lucky I am to call this place my home. It is such a beautiful part of the world. My family and I spend most weekends exploring the peninsula, disovering new locations and revisiting old favourites.

The goal of this blog is to entice you to visit Sydney’s Northern Beaches and fall in love with it, too.
